To delete your Facebook account, follow these steps:

1. Backup Your Data (Optional)
Before deleting your account, you may want to download a copy of your Facebook data, including photos, posts, and other information.

Go to Settings: Click the profile picture in the top-right corner > Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Download Your Information: In the left-hand menu, select Your Facebook Information > Download Your Information > Choose what data to download and click Create File.

2. Deactivate or Delete Your Account
Facebook offers two options: deactivate (temporary) or delete (permanent).

Go to Account Settings:

On desktop: Profile picture > Settings & Privacy > Settings.
On mobile: Menu (three horizontal lines) > Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Access Account Options:

Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion.
Choose “Delete Account” and click Continue to Account Deletion.

3. Confirm Deletion
Enter your password when prompted.
Click Continue, then Delete Account to finalize.

4. Wait for Deletion
Facebook gives you 30 days to cancel the deletion. Log in within this period if you change your mind. After 30 days, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted. It may take up to 90 days for all your data to be fully removed from Facebook's servers.
